We Can Pray

By Glorianne Gibbs

If ever there were a perfect verse to describe the Christian Womanhood magazine, Proverbs 27:17 is it! Each article is written (it seems) directly to my heart and helps me immeasurablyI look forward to reading each issue and always come away blessed for having done soEven the articles on rearing young children help me with my grandchildrenNo matter how old I become, I still need instruction from a Godly perspective.

As I’m sure you know from the news, the world is in such unbelievable turmoil today with horrible things happening in the Middle EastThis, in itself, requires Christian women who live in a beautiful and safe country to pray earnestly for our sisters who are in crisisRecently, the news reports quickly mentioned that many churches were burned as ISIS took over more new territory.

Our Lord loves those precious Christians just as He loves us, and it is our duty and honor to pray for them as they are standing for Christ in such peril! We cannot do much in the way of actual encouragement; for example, they cannot even receive Christian Womanhood, but we can PRAYPray as sincerely and fervently as though it were your sister living in Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, or…

God hears and answers prayer—I know this from His Word, and I know it in my own life—believe me, God hears and answers prayer! Please commit along with me to pray every day for our Christian brethren (men, women, and children) who are living their Christian faith in harm’s way across our globeAlso, please take a few minutes more to pray for our country and its leaders that we might remain a country that offers freedom of religion.“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
